Why are these ingredients used?

Sea salt is packed with minerals (calcium, magnesium, silicon, phosphorus, sodium, nickel, iodine, and iron) that reduce inflammation, strengthen gums, and neutralise acids. Sea salt also increases the production of saliva - our body's way of safeguarding enamel! 

Baking Soda (pure sodium bicarbonate) is highly alkaline, which creates an environment that is not favourable to bacteria while neutralizing acids in the mouth (acids cause tooth decay and dental cavities). For centuries, baking soda has worked to naturally whiten teeth and freshen breath. It's abrasive enough to rid your dog's teeth of oral plaque without damaging the tooth enamel.

Peppermint Essential Oil makes your dog's breath minty fresh and is extremely effective at killing anaerobic bacteria, a type of bacteria that thrives in a low oxygen environment - protecting your dog's mouth from gum disease.
