UPDATE: As of August 2020, Whisk & Paddle and Fat Po are no longer pet-friendly 🙁
Last weekend, we went buddyriding to check out Whisk and Paddle, a semi-dog-friendly cafe along the Punggol waterway.
I say semi-dog-friendly because the cafe literally has a line drawn between the dog-friendly area, which has a row of six two-seater tables (see photo below) and the non-dog-friendly area further in.
It was really sunny on the day we went so we wanted to move one table inside. But to our disappointment, the staff politely told us to move back to our original seat.
It was all good in the end though because they offered us another seat when other customers left.
Dogs are also only allowed on chairs in the dog-friendly outdoor seating if you put newspapers provided by the cafe underneath them. If you are planning to put your dog on the chair, we would suggest you bring your own towel.
Other than that, it was honestly a nice place to dine at. Surrounded by greenery with a laidback atmosphere, this is a cafe that’s perfect for weekend brunches or evening drinks.
Mama ordered the french toast with bacon ($13.30) and papa ordered the waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon ($15.80). The food was decent with a good variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner mains, bar bites, and homemade dessert options.
Mama tempted me with the french toast but I didn’t get any in the end.
We will certainly go back again especially after buddyriding along the waterway. However, some reviews complained about long waiting times. It didn’t take that long for us but don’t be surprised if you have to wait 30 minutes for your meal.
