German photographer Julia Maria Werner found a stray dog rummaging through scraps in a garage. Drawn by his lion-like appearance, she took him in and transformed him into the lion he deserves to be in her amazing photos.

One day, fate led German photographer Julia Maria Werner to find a stray dog rummaging through scraps in a garage.

Drawn to his lion-like appearance, the Lion King fan that she is, took him in, fed him food, named him Tschikko Leopold von Werner, and most of all gave him a home.

It also happens that Tschikko loves wearing the mane made for him using scrap fabric.

“In the beginning, he was very insecure,” Julia told Bored Panda. “Someone who knows a lot about dogs told me the best thing is “working“ with him and teaching him some tricks. He loves jumping on things and using the mane. The pictures are both a game and teamwork between us.”

And the photo series “Big City Lion” was born!
